Angiogenesis

The biological process by which new blood vessels form from pre-existing vessels, supplying oxygen and nutrients to healing or growing tissue.

Also known as: Neovascularization

Angiogenesis is a critical component of wound healing and tissue repair, and several research peptides are studied specifically for their ability to promote or modulate this process. BPC-157, for example, is noted in preclinical research for its angiogenic properties, which may help explain its accelerated tissue repair effects.

In the context of peptide research, promoting angiogenesis in injured tissue can accelerate recovery by restoring blood flow and nutrient delivery to damaged areas. Conversely, controlled angiogenesis is also relevant to research on tumor biology, where excessive vessel formation can support abnormal tissue growth.
