mcg

Microgram — a unit of mass equal to one millionth of a gram (0.000001 g), the standard unit for dosing most research peptides.

Also known as: microgram µg ug

Most peptides are dosed in the range of 100–500 mcg per injection — far too small to measure on a standard scale. The practical measurement tool is the insulin syringe: after reconstituting a known mass of peptide in a known volume of bacteriostatic water, you draw up a volume of liquid that corresponds to your target dose in mcg.

For example: a 5 mg (5,000 mcg) vial reconstituted with 1 mL of BAC water gives a concentration of 5,000 mcg/mL. A 100 mcg dose would then be 0.02 mL, or 2 units on a U-100 insulin syringe. Use the VialBase calculator to convert your dose.
