GHRP
Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide — a class of synthetic peptides that stimulate the pituitary to release growth hormone by acting on ghrelin receptors.
GHRPs work through a different receptor pathway than GHRHs — they mimic ghrelin (the “hunger hormone”) and stimulate GH release via the ghrelin receptor (GHSR-1a). Common GHRPs include GHRP-2, GHRP-6, Ipamorelin, and Hexarelin, each with different potency, selectivity, and side effect profiles.
GHRPs are most effective when combined with a GHRH analog — the two classes act synergistically, with GHRP amplifying the GH pulse that GHRH initiates. GHRP-6 is notable for increasing appetite significantly (a ghrelin effect), while Ipamorelin is preferred for minimal side effects and high GH selectivity.
